Viktor Schreckengost was both a prolific artist and a brilliant designer. He created over 1500 works of sculpture, ceramics and paintings from 1920 to the mid 1990s – a new work of art nearly every two weeks for well over 70 years. The Attleboro Arts Museum’s Viktor Schreckengost Legacy

The legacy of Viktor's years of teaching and aesthetic influence is celebrated with a display of his students' creative automotive, toy, consumer product designs and fine art.

3. Out of the Blue - A National, Juried Exhibition
(Call for Artists Entry Deadline: May 23, 2008)
“If you see a tree as blue, then make it blue”
- Paul Gauguin
The Attleboro Arts Museum invites all artists to work “Out of the Blue.” Artists may submit original work in all mediums and concepts. All work must incorporate the color blue(s) for this national, juried exhibition in the Museum’s Ottmar Gallery. Six cash prizes of $100 will be awarded.
The color of ocean and sky, blue is often perceived as a constant in our lives. It is frequently seen as trustworthy and dependable, while at the same time, some feel the overuse of blue can be cold, uncaring or melancholy. That said, this pliable color can take a different turn and become a dynamic expression of exhilaration when sparks of electric blues make their mark.
Out of the Blue, on display from July 2 - July 25, 2008, pays tribute to the Attleboro Arts Museum 85th anniversary. The Museum's vivid blue identity and trademark – designed to represent energy, opportunity and commitment – serves as the impetus behind this national, juried exhibition.
Out of the Blue replaces the Museum’s
Small Works exhibition for this anniversary year.
